Jonathan Rechner
Secretary & Legal Counsel
Jonathan serves as the Secretary and Legal Counsel to the Board of Directors of The Camp Ohana Foundation.
He took his first trip to Africa when he was fifteen years old. He lived for six weeks in various parts of Kenya, including the Rift Valley, where he lived with a family in a rural village.
Jon spent a semester in college living in Tanzania, during which he learned basic Swahili and deepened his appreciation for East African culture. He has since made several extended visits to the area, and each time, is reminded of the positive spirit and welcoming nature of the people who, despite hardship, focus on the brighter side of life and look forward to the future. Jon is proud to be a part of the Camp Ohana family, and through The Camp Ohana Foundation, looks forward to helping facilitate positive growth experiences for African youth and local communities.
Jon is currently practising as an attorney in New York City. He looks forward to his next visit to Kenya to see the progress the Foundation is making on the ground.
