Laurel Capobianco
Vice Chair
Laurel is passionately engaged in service to the nonprofit sector with over 15 years of leadership experience. Most recently she served as Vice President for University Relations for the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan.
Her background includes extensive fundraising, community organizing, workplace cultural competence, strategic planning, and board and committee development. Laurel continues to serve on a wide variety of boards, committees and task forces both at the local and national level focused on providing access for communities of color and underserved populations to education and human services.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan in nonprofit management. As an orphan adopted from South Korea into an international, multicultural family and the first person to become college educated, Laurel's personal life story aligns well with the mission of Camp Ohana.
She lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan with her husband Jeff, and bulldogs Lilo and Winston.
