Camp Ohana Agricultural Program

planting01.jpgIntroduction

The Camp Ohana Agricultural Program is run at the Camp Ohana site, also known as Camp Ohana Campus which is located 28 miles Southwest of Nairobi in Kajiado, Kenya.

Through the use of a space and cost efficient vertical farming systems, the children participating in our agricultural program  learn how to grow fruits and vegetables in a sustainable way.

Overview

A portion of the harvest is donated locally to needy children, and the remainder is distributed to the children in affiliated orphanages. Through this program, The Camp Ohana Foundation teaches children practical farming skills, while at the same time fostering a sense of community and charity through learning to “help the other fellow.”

This program currently serves 25 children in the local community and 4700 fruits and vegetables are grown and harvested periodically.
