Camp Ohana Recreation Programs
Camp Ohana Soccer Program
This program involves a group of local children from various villages in western Kenya. The program runs every weekend and daily during the school holidays. The children play soccer and engage in team building exercises. With environmental stewardship as an important value of Camp Ohana Foundation, they also learn the importance of environmental stewardship and take part in tree planting as an integral part of their soccer program.
This program is under the leadership of a local Camp Ohana volunteer who has experience in coach soccer and working with children. This program currently serves 80 children.
Camp Ohana Girls Choir & Dance Program
This is a standing group of girls in local villages in western Kenya who meet every weekend and daily during the school holidays to create, learn and practice traditional songs and dances. The goal of this program is to provide a fun extracurricular activity for the girls, preserve their culture through song and dance and to foster friendships and enhance self-esteem.
The program is coordinated by a local Camp Ohana volunteer who has experience in traditional songs and dances. This program currently serves 30 girls.
